📍 Location: A Quiet Corner in Homerton
Conveniently located just five walk minutes from Homerton Overground Station, Beans and Bites feels like a hidden escape in the midst of East London’s bustle.
Whether you’re a Hackney local or wandering in from further afield, it’s the perfect weekend pit stop. The area itself has a low-key charm—great for a pre- or post-brunch stroll around the nearby green spaces or vintage shops.
🍳 Food: A Brunch Dream Come True
The menu is a celebration of brunch in all its forms—from hearty classics like the English and Mediterranean breakfast to more indulgent fare like Eggs Benedict, French toast, waffles, and pancakes.
I went for the Eggs Royale, and honestly, it hit the spot. The brioche was soft and slightly sweet, which paired really well with the smoked salmon. The eggs were poached just how I like them—soft in the centre with that golden yolk spilling perfectly into the hollandaise. And compared to other Eggs Royale I’ve had, this portion was definitely more generous. The hollandaise had a lovely creamy texture without being too tangy (which I really appreciated), and it balanced so nicely with the smokiness of the salmon. A side of fresh fruit tied it all together and gave the dish a light, refreshing finish.
Tip✨: Save room—The portions are really generous and so if you’re someone who likes to have a sweet after something savoury, there are loads of dessert options.

🤝 Service: Warm, Welcoming, and Never Rushed
The team at Beans and Bites strikes that lovely balance between being efficient and genuinely warm. I arrived just before noon on a busy Saturday and was quickly seated with a friendly smile. Not long after, a friend confirmed she was joining—with her baby in tow—and the staff were quick to accommodate us with a larger table. I must’ve timed it just right, because shortly after we were settled, a queue began forming near the entrance.
From start to finish, the service stayed consistently attentive without ever feeling overbearing. Even as the café got busier, we were never made to feel rushed. In fact, we lingered for quite a while and still felt completely welcome. Food arrived surprisingly quickly despite the steady stream of customers, and things only started to quiet down closer to closing time.
Note📝 : If you want to avoid the peak brunch crowd, I’d recommend arriving just before 12pm or after 2:30pm. I’ve heard there’s additional seating outside or possibly upstairs, though since I visited during the colder months, I didn’t get a chance to see if those areas were open.
🥰 Ambiance: Chic and Cozy With Room to Breathe
Stylish yet welcoming, Beans and Bites offers a space that’s both photo-worthy and down-to-earth. The restaurant features its name in bold signage—a nice visual centre piece—and the interior décor is simple, clean, and inviting. Even with the lunch rush, the space maintained a peaceful energy. There’s extra seating at the back and a terrace for sunnier days, so no need to panic if the front room looks full.
Tip✨: Ideal for solo brunching, casual catch-ups, or even a low-key date spot.

🌕 Final Reflection 🫶
Beans and Bites checks every single box: flavourful food, generous portions, warm service, a great location, and a vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer. It’s exactly the kind of place that makes brunch more than just a meal—it becomes a memory. For me, it’s a firm favourite, and one I’ll gladly return to again (and again).
🏅 Azuki Approved for good reason!
