🍽️Food
Yum Yum offers a wide range of options. We sampled a mix of starters and mains:
🥗Starters
Money bags, prawn toast, and pumpkin & sweet corn cakes. The fritter-style starters were enjoyable and a good way to start the meal.

🍜Mains
I chose the mung bean rice noodle seafood dish. While it included a variety of seafood, it was extremely salty. I had wanted to try something different from the usual pad Thai or drunken noodles, but this dish didn’t hit the mark.

🍹Drinks
Happy hour 2-for-1 was a plus. I tried a Raspberry Off-the-School mocktail, which was pleasant but watered down due to the ice.

🍰Dessert
Mango sticky rice was ordered for takeout. At home, the portion was tiny and not quite worth £8.95, though the mango was nicely presented in a rose arrangement. It was okay, but not the best dessert.

Overall: Starters were enjoyable, drinks were fine, but the mains were overly salty and overshadowed the flavours.
🤝Service
The service was friendly and attentive. Staff were polite and helpful, and even though the restaurant was very quiet on a Saturday afternoon, service felt consistent and welcoming.
🌃Ambiance
Yum Yum is surprisingly spacious, with an outdoor seating area featuring a Buddha statue and a large indoor space, including a basement lounge. The décor is stylish, with dim lighting, nice paintings, and social media QR codes.
❌ However, a few issues affected the overall feel:
The restaurant felt empty at first, which was slightly uncomfortable, but it became easier to settle in.
The basement toilets had a strong, unpleasant odour reminiscent of seafood and general waste. The smell hit as soon as I walked down the stairs and opened the downstairs door — I had to quickly use the bathroom and leave. Ventilation may be an issue.
The space felt clean but lacked freshness and warmth. More candlelight or subtle touches could improve the atmosphere.
🌕 Reflection 🫶
Yum Yum has potential with its spacious, stylish interior and attentive service, but some key issues hold it back.
The food, particularly the mains, was too salty, and the toilet odour was off-putting. I was torn between 2 and 3 stars — I generally do like Thai food, it was at a good location, the restaurant was very spacious, and the staff were polite. I even considered bringing my family for a large gathering. However, the salty food and strong toilet odour, especially near the lounge, prevent it from being a top pick.
It is unfortunately an 🚫 Azuki Pass for me.
