First Impressions

From the moment I stepped inside, Lotte Hotel Seoul felt like a calm, luxurious retreat in the middle of bustling Seoul. The check-in process was smooth, and I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade. Polite bows and welcoming staff set a refined tone. While my second stay had a slight service dip due to another guest’s situation, overall hospitality remained consistently warm and polished.

🛌 Room Features – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My upgraded room was spacious, thoughtfully designed, and offered gorgeous city views. It felt more like a mini suite than a standard room, with a sofa, coffee table, desk, and makeup vanity — perfect for both relaxation and productivity. There was also a TV, plenty of wardrobe space, fridge, and a large bathroom featuring a soaking tub and bidet.

The bedding was ultra-comfortable, and amenities like plush towels and fragrant toiletries added a luxurious touch. We did have to call down for an iron, which wasn’t already in the room, and the coffee machine was a little tricky to use — but neither issue took away from the overall comfort and premium feel of the space.

📍 Location – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The hotel’s central location is unbeatable. It’s directly connected to the Lotte Department Store, subway Line 2 (Exit 7), and the K Limousine bus stop, making it incredibly convenient for both first-time and seasoned visitors. Myeongdong’s lively shopping streets and night market food stalls are just steps away — perfect for evening bites or souvenir browsing. Attractions like Bukchon Hanok Village, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Insadong are also within a comfortable 15–30 minute walk.

The Lotte Department Store’s basement food hall is a fantastic spot for quick, high-quality meals or picking up local snacks and treats — ideal if you’re short on time or want to bring something back to your room.

🧼 Cleanliness – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Cleanliness was consistently excellent. The room was refreshed daily with high standards — towels, toiletries, and surfaces were spotless. Though I occasionally missed the housekeeping window due to being in and out, the staff remained courteous and flexible.

🍽️ Food & Drink – ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The breakfast buffet was visually impressive and diverse — offering Western, Korean, Mediterranean, and dim sum options. The food quality was great, but the price (~£60 for two) was on the steep side. Given the number of local cafés nearby, it’s worth considering whether to include breakfast in your booking or not.

Tip✨: Walk the full buffet first — the layout isn’t intuitive, and you might miss hidden dishes!

🤝 Service – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The service throughout both stays was polished and welcoming across every team — from the doormen and receptionists to the concierge, housekeeping, and bellhops. Staff frequently greeted guests with bows, always ready to assist with a smile. The initial check-in experience was especially memorable with a complimentary room upgrade and help with our luggage.

Although my second stay saw a minor lapse in attentiveness due to an issue involving another guest, the overall service standard remained high. Everyone I interacted with carried a sense of professionalism and calm that made the stay feel easy and enjoyable.

🛎️ Facilities – ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lotte Hotel Seoul offers a wide range of facilities, including a gym, spa, indoor pool, and two jacuzzis, as well as changing rooms (a bit compact but clean). Everything was well-maintained and spotless, though some areas — like the indoor jacuzzi space — felt a little cramped, and a few amenities weren’t always in use during my visit.

The hotel also features a dessert café, bakery, several restaurants, and a grand piano in the lobby, which added a touch of elegance. One evening, I even caught some live music playing in the lobby, creating a refined and relaxing atmosphere.

The lounge area looked spacious and inviting, though I didn’t sit there myself.

Note📝: There were no chairs in the main lobby area, and the lounge isn’t open all day — a minor inconvenience after check-out when looking for a place to rest.

Tip✨: The hotel’s basement connects directly to both the Lotte Department Store and the subway station, making it easy to explore, shop, or transfer without stepping outside.

✨Final Verdict

Lotte Hotel Seoul offers a near-perfect blend of comfort, service, and unbeatable convenience. From the excellent room quality to the ideal location for sightseeing and shopping, I truly enjoyed my stay here.If you're looking for a polished hotel experience in the heart of Seoul, this is a standout choice.

I’d happily stay here again — though next time, I might explore another district just to experience a different side of the city.
