✨ First Impressions
Bellagio Bed and Breakfast is a cosy little haven tucked just outside the town centre. It had a warm, family-run feel that made it easy to unwind — a nice contrast to the buzz of Lake Como’s more popular spots. Though the location did present some transportation challenges, the charm, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality made it well worth the effort.
🛌 Room Features – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The highlights:
Large double bed comfortable bed with fluffy pillows - plenty of room for me and my friend
A private terrace with two deck chairs and breathtaking views of the lake and mountains
Spotless, modern bathroom with all the essentials
Spacious - we had a seating area (coach and coffee table) and another desk
Important Note📝: The property doesn’t have a lift, and our room was located on the top floor—rewarded with beautiful views, but it does mean a bit of a climb with your luggage. The host kindly helped us carry our bags during check-in, but we managed on our own at checkout. If stairs are a concern, it’s worth requesting a room on a lower floor in advance.
📍 Location – ⭐⭐⭐
Bellagio B&B is set on a quiet hillside outside the main town, offering beautiful views and a calm atmosphere.
The Highlights
Ideal for travellers looking for peace, quiet, and nature 🌿
Best suited for those with a car 🚗
Can see the lake and mountain views 🌄
Conveniently located near a ferry port (note: not the main Bellagio terminal) 🛳️
Bus stop right outside the hotel
Note📝: The host kindly offered to drive us to and from the town centre whenever they were available. However, on one occasion, we missed the last bus and reached out for a lift, but didn’t receive a response. While there was no prior commitment, it’s worth keeping in mind that this service isn’t guaranteed.
🚫 The catch?
No nearby restaurant or shops - had to go into town for food
The walk into Bellagio town centre took much longer than expected (it says 40 mins on google maps but it was closer to an hour)
If walking, it's a steep, winding route with no safe pavements.
I don't remember it having a lot of street lightning so I wouldn't recommend walking from the town centre to the hotel at night.
Even though the bus stop is right outside the hotel it's infrequent (one every hour) and overcrowded so you may not get on.
Taxi ride which is only 5 mins will cost €20 per trip. Waiting at the taxi rank was a frustrating experience—the queue was long, and we ended up waiting for nearly an hour.
Tip✨: If mobility or safety is a concern, factor in taxi costs or consider staying closer to town.
🧼 Cleanliness – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The highlights
Fresh linens, tidy rooms, and well-maintained common areas
Returning to a clean space after a long day felt genuinely comforting
The low lights
I did notice the floor could have used a more regular vacuum (not enough to knock off a star)
🍽️ Food & Drink – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The highlights
Daily breakfast was simple but fresh and satisfying
Loved the locally sourced ingredients
Bonus: Free bottled water daily!
The low lights
Not many food options nearby for lunch/dinner — you'll need to head into town
🤝 Service – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was the heart of the stay.
The hosts were kind, helpful, and attentive
Helped with ferry and dinner recommendations
The hosts spoke English
🛎️ Facilities – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The highlights
Facilities are basic, but the peaceful outdoor terrace makes up for it
No on-site or nearby restaurant, but great breakfast and thoughtful extras (like bottled water)
Recommendations
Would love to see them offer a dedicated, affordable shuttle — it would elevate the experience tremendously
We explored a small cabin on the property with our neighbours—it had the feel of a museum or gift shop. It would’ve been lovely if it had a clearer purpose or offered something useful for guests.
✨Final Verdict
“Sometimes the best views come after the steepest climbs.”
Bellagio Bed and Breakfast is a serene, homey stay with spectacular views and top-notch service. Yes, the trek to town is a lot — but if you’re after quiet, comfort, and charm (and don’t mind some hills).
It’s 🌿Worth a Wander. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
